Job Title: Automotive Detailer

Job Overview: An Automotive Detailer is responsible for cleaning, polishing, and waxing vehicles both inside and out. This role involves using specialized equipment, chemicals, and techniques to restore and maintain the appearance of vehicles to a high standard, ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exterior Cleaning:

    • Wash and wax vehicle exteriors using hand or automated equipment.
    • Clean and polish chrome, windows, tires, and wheels.
    • Remove dirt, tar, and other debris from the vehicle’s surface.
    • Apply protective coatings to prevent rust and oxidation.
  • Interior Cleaning:

    • Vacuum and shampoo carpets, seats, and floor mats.
    • Clean and polish dashboards, consoles, and trim.
    • Clean upholstery, leather, and other interior surfaces.
    • Remove stains and odors from seats and carpets.
  • Detailing:

    • Clean and dress engine bays, door jambs, and wheel wells.
    • Detail vehicle mirrors, headlights, and taillights.
    • Ensure that all areas, including hidden spots, are cleaned and maintained.
  • Vehicle Inspection:

    • Inspect vehicles for any damage or areas that need attention.
    • Notify the supervisor or customer of any issues found during detailing.
  • Customer Service:

    • Communicate with customers to understand their specific detailing preferences.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction with the results.
  • Maintenance of Equipment:

    • Maintain detailing equipment, tools, and products.
    • Ensure proper storage and safe handling of chemicals.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of various cleaning techniques, tools, and materials.
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, often standing or bending for long periods.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
  • Prior experience in automotive detailing or a similar field is preferred but not always required.

Work Environment:

  • Typically works in automotive detailing shops, car dealerships, or service centers.
  • May require working in outdoor or poorly lit areas depending on the location.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in different environmental conditions (hot, cold, or wet).
Position pays $17-$20/hour
